Mathieu has long distanced himself from his Turkish roots in his pursuit of social advancement, much to the dismay of his family. A brilliant lawyer, he handles high-profile cases for powerful multinational corporations at a prestigious firm and is on the verge of becoming partner to his mentor, Claude.

His plans are upended when his sister asks him to defend Abdullah, a young Turkish man from their community who has been the victim of a racist attack by a European parliament member - an asseult Adbullah is determined to take to court.
